Blue and Gray Eduation Society's mission is, among other things, to reveal our past for our future through facilitating the study and understanding of the American Civil War. We accomplish this by interpreting and preserving Civil War battlefields and other historically significant places and artifacts. Through the generosity of our members and other supporters, we focus on several projects annually.

Currently, we are working on four projects, including:

• Replacing the Presidential Box flags at Ford's Theater
• Funding the purchase of equipment and software to enable Medford Historical Society to ditigally preserve its unique collection of Civil War photographs
• In conjunction with the Yellow Ribbon Fund, funding tours of Civil War battlefields for disabled vets at no charge.
• Purchasing a carriage and limber for Pamplin Historical Park's Adventure Camp

In addition, the generous support of our members has allowed us to install interpretative signage of the utmost quality that will benefit visitors of a number of battlefields for many years to come:
